That painting is absolutely superb, expressionist, mystique, and deep heart rendering, I truly loved it. You are very talented girl if it is yours, and I think you should suitably title it.
I'm so glad you saw it ! I have been trying to get people to go or to get a dvd copy..of course I would encourage everyone to get the original copy which I intend to buy when it comes out later this month, even though I've already seen the movie. It would send a signal to producers that we do appreciate films with meaning. It left me feeling very dazed for a few days..I mean I had read about Rwanda and that was disturbing enough, but personalising the conflict visually is always very powerful. I am reading 'We wish to inform you that tomorrow we will be killed with our families' and reading it after the film makes me feel like I am reading about people and places I have seen in a dream...I would recommend it if you want more info. AND your paintings! Great stuff, keep 'em coming they are really beautiful...
mashallah 3aleich.. i wish a can deliver with a brush as well as you do..
mashalla, not only is it a beautiful painting (must be better seen physically) but its also moving.. not many painters can do that these days.. most just paint a pretty picture that has no identity whatsoever behind the strokes or the colors.. i applaud you and one of these days im going to ask for one to hang on my wall ;)
oh guys. this girl is stubborn. she has loads n loads of such and other amazing paintings. we've been at her to give an exhibition bs mako fayda. and are you kidding me? water colors are more difficult. more transparent and easier to mess. oil u can go over and over on and fix ur blunders. but u gotta have art to do water.
I still have to see rowanda and ray. somehow i missed them this year :(
Thanks for the great post. Rwanda's genocide is but one example of the many tragedies Africa has. It has become the forgotten continent.
This year a worldwide movement to change the situation in Africa is taking place. You can make a difference by spreading the word. A child dies every 3 seconds because of extreme poverty.

if you are gonna watch the movie make sure you have a box of tissue with you...man I cried and I cried...it was a really good...an eye opener for the genocide that went on unnoticed by the world! and Shurouq I have to say this is a very moving painting...I could see the pain in the little boys eye...and I have to agree with the rest you should have an exhibition...if you are not ready...at least share with us more of your beautiful art work :)
Guys, I know why you were grabbed by the look in the eyes, it’s this mysterious and far away feeling it brings, looking upwards to a scary and uncertain future. A very mature look for a boy at his age. And also notice the tilt of the head, as if he is begging for mercy. Shurouq Ana ma ga3da ajamil. When I’m not moved by some work I simply stay quit, I loved your painting and I meant every word I said, yalla choose a better name, but take your time. This painting is worth it :)

Nazzal,
This one is about 15x25cm.
I use watercolor for its instant effect...
Ok, I use watercolor because I'm not good with oil.
And this blog is my little underground exhibition. :)
Ayya,
From now on it's called "Rabab thinks it's superb", how about that? :)
Now, how do I return your compliments, guys?

Thanks for your sweet comments, guys. I'm overwhelmed!
Kwtia,
I'll check that book out.
Keep us informed, please :)
Snooks,
Coming from an artist like you, i'm really flattered :)
N.,
I don't know what to say.. You make me blush, girl!
Noonyo,
I'm anything but stubborn..
It's just that I can always point out a mistake or ten in every painting I do. I'm not good enough... yet.
Misguided,
Consider it done. And thanks for passing by :)
Rayhane,
وأنا أعجبت بإعجابك :)
Yaryoor,
You're right. People under similar circumstances can relate more to what being abandoned by the rest of the world's like.
Tata,
Inta fahemni..
There's a lot of room for improvement in my work.
And I'm definitely taking your offer, the honor would be mine, babe :)
Nazzal,
Although I'm realizing more and more how I'm no longer middle class, I'm officially poor, I'm still not considering auction.
But hey.. Thanks for the thought.
One day I'll dedicate a painting for you. :)
Jelly Belly,
I cried too :'( I couldn't help it.
Oh please, Nazzal
Can't you tell I'm already a snob? ;)
One more thing..
When/if I become a mommy, That's how I want my kid to look like.
A girl can dream you know!

Shurouq, u should post more paintings, really beautiful!
I am offering my services as your agent! Free of charge also, I'll set up the gallery, and I will take a percentage of sales ;P
I will also handle negotiations with tata, I might get you a better price than "free" from him, ill try to get him to pay! ;P
Ayya,
I'm not good at giving names to paintings.. This one is saved under "Red Cross" though.
Thanks for the lovely words, dear :) A7rajteeni

Q,
Agent huh?.. Isn't that just another word for "crook"? :P
I've always had a weak spot for water color paintings, something so light and fresh about most of them
