A resounding "NO!" An interesting thing about critical mind is that it may tell us that we only judge others or that we only judge ourselves. If you judge yourself, you DO judge others. If you judge others, you DO judge yourself. The judging mind has no way to separate you from anyone else. There is a third piece to this triangle that most people don't realize and that makes it even more interesting. If you judge, you are also looking at others to see if they are judging you. You can now add rejection and abandonment to the possible consequences of an active critical mind.
Wouldn't it be nice to be free of judgment? To put that critical mind aside and enjoy personal peace instead?

Allah 3alaich...I love Jacques Louis David's work. Another favorite of mine is "Oath of the Horatii;" I really love how David incorporated the personal aspect of the three brothers going to war and actually, one of the weeping wives' brother is one of the three Curiatii brothers who will face the Horatii brothers.
And as for Marat, well...he's actually soaking in the tub because he had a skin disease. A young woman (Charlotte Corday) came into his bathroom and stabbed him to death.
The thing I don't like about David though is that he's a suck up. When Robespierre was doing his "Reign of Terror" he backed him up with propagandistic works and when Robbie was executed, David backed out. Phooey!
I wish I was with your sisters :( Inshallah they have fun in Italia...la wallah tadreen shlon, I guarantee they will have fun ;P!!
