No Country For Wusses

We must be the empire of dust.
The first 10 minutes of my working hours are devoted to my Dettol wipes/spray, Windex, paper towel, and hand cream. Every morning I find what varies between unnoticeable thin layers to not-so-thin layers of dust everywhere. My throat is as dry as a bone and warm/hot drinks make me nauseous.

تحاول التملص من دعوة أحد الأصدقاء لحضور حفل غداء، ورغم وجود مشاغل حقيقة إلا أنك تختلق أعذارا من نوع "قطوتي تعبانة.. حايشتها حساسية ما أقدر أخليها بروحها"، أو "صبغ الأظافر اللي توني حاطته ما ينشف بسرعة.. ما راح يمديني أييكم".. أو "قاعدة أرتب مكتبتي وما عندي تي شيرت أخضر يليق بالمناسبة"، أو “قذلتي وايد قصيرة.. فشلة”. الحقيقة طبعا أنك لا تود الذهاب لأنك ببساطة لا تحب المدعويين.. وبعد نجاح الخطة وقبول الأعذار الواهية والوصول إلى المنزل والتمتع بوجبة غداء منزلية شهية، والتسمر أمام التلفزيون واللابتوب، وقراءة بعض المواد الواجب قراءتها، وبعد قيلولة قصيرة يصدح تلفونك النقال بـ"جونغاااار" وإذا برسالة قصيرة من الداعي ما غيره يبلغني (مع ابتسامة) أن الغداء تأجل وأن لي الحرية في تحديد الموعد... آل يعني مدلعني :/

Saturday night I was going to watch No Country For Old Men, but I found myself hitting the stop button after the first few seconds. I, who had Natural Born Killers on my all time favorites, chickened out after a couple of killing scenes.
